Advisors with Canfin Financial Group will have access to the advisorDUO platform of Invesco Canada Ltd. this spring, the two Toronto-based companies announced on Wednesday.
Other firms now using the robo-advisor platform include Richmond Hill, Ont.-based Keybase Financial Group Inc., Trois-Rivières, Que.-based Groupe Cloutier Inc., Windsor, Ont.-based Sterling Mutuals Inc. and Kingston, Ont.-based Professional Investments Inc.
The platform is a digital tool that enables financial advisors to serve their existing clients while prospecting and onboarding new ones. It allows advisors to connect directly with clients via an electronic interface so they can open new accounts and obtain advice in the manner that they find most convenient.
“Canfin is committed to finding ways to enable our Wealth Management Advisors to cultivate and deepen client relationships. By employing advisorDuo and digitizing our business through our partnership with Invesco, this will allow our advisors to enhance the way they do business by freeing up administrative time to continue to concentrate on client-focused, value added services,” says Manny DaSilva, president, Canfin Financial Group, in a statement.
Intended as an advisor-assisted tool, advisorDUO provides clients with secure access, enabling them to open accounts on their own, with the knowledge that their advisors are there to assist them if necessary. The platform compiles all information required to open new accounts. It allows advisors to reduce administrative costs and initiate fee-based relationships with their clients while keeping client assets on their books.
Once an investor questionnaire that covers all aspects of the know-your-client form is completed, each client is recommended a cost-effective; multi-asset-allocation portfolio tailored to his/her risk profile.
This suite of portfolios is also available for Canfin advisors to use with their existing clients. The portfolios consist of 14 to 16 ETFs that provide exposure to smart beta strategies across various asset classes.
