Fidelity Investments Canada ULC (Fidelity Canada) Wednesday announced that Brian Miron, a Fidelity fixed income portfolio manager, has made the personal decision to retire.
“Brian Miron has been a valued member of the Fidelity fixed income team for 15 years and we wish him well in his retirement. Brian will be staying until June 2015 to ensure a seamless transition for our clients,” said Craig Strachan, head of product, Fidelity Canada, in a news release.
Miron will remain with Fidelity until June 30, and will transition away from his portfolio management responsibilities effective April 1. He is currently co-portfolio manager with Catriona Martin on a number of Fidelity Canada investment mandates.
Fidelity announced the promotion of Sri Tella to co-portfolio manager alongside Martin. Tella is a long-time member of the team managing Fidelity’s Canadian fixed income investment mandates and has been working alongside Miron and Martin as a Canadian fixed income trader since 2008. His promotion is effective April 1.
Tella is currently a trader on Fidelity’s Canada’s fixed income mandates. Prior to this assignment, he was trader in Fidelity’s taxable bond group from 2007 to 2008. Previously, he worked as a research analyst at Merrill Lynch from 2006 to 2007, a trader at HSBC Securities from 2001 to 2004, and a trader at Goldman Sachs from 1996 to 2000. He has been in the investment industry since 1996.
Tella earned his bachelor of commerce degree from Queen’s University and his master of business administration from Duke University. He is also a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charterholder.
