BMO Mutual Funds and Dell Canada have teamed up to award $10,000 each to 10 young Canadians to help cover the costs of their post-secondary education.

“Current estimates predict that in 18 years, a four-year degree from a Canadian educational institution could cost as much as $96,000,” said Linda Knight, Vice-President, BMO Mutual Funds. “We wanted to help parents and kids achieve their educational goals.”

“At Dell we believe that computers are an integral part of a child’s education through access to the Internet, resources and productivity tools that complement traditional classroom teaching and learning experiences,” said Brian Monette, Marketing Director, Dell Canada. “By partnering with the Bank of Montreal we are able to reinforce this belief and offer a unique and exciting opportunity to invest in young Canadians and help them pursue their dreams and goals through education.”

There will be a total of ten $10,000 awards paid into a new or existing BMO Intuition Registered Education Savings Plan or another BMO Mutual Funds account.

“This contest builds on our RESP program, BMO Intuition, which encourages families to save for their children’s education,” added Knight. “The growth of the investment is not taxed until funds are withdrawn to pay for the post- secondary education.”

The Back-to-School Grant Contest runs from August 1 to September 21. Entry forms can be found at www.dell.ca/planahead or by calling 1-877-511-6086. No purchase is necessary to enter the contest.

The contest is open to all residents of Canada, excluding those residing in the Province of Quebec. Winners will be drawn on October 14. The $10,000 prize is not eligible for the CESG.
