BMO Capital Markets, the investment and corporate banking arm of BMO Financial Group (TSX:BMO), has announced the launch of a Twitter feed to be used for communicating with clients in real-time.
“People are always on the go, and social media tools are increasingly being used as a way to communicate and stay informed,” said Rick Kuwayti, head of marketing for BMO Capital Markets. “Twitter is another way for us to deliver information to our clients and other followers at precisely the moment they want it, wherever they might be.”
Followers of the BMO Capital Markets Twitter feed will receive regular updates about the firm’s institutional investor conferences and events, new-hire announcements, awards, products, services, and upcoming appearances on news programs by BMO Capital Markets analysts and strategists.
Most of the postings, commonly known as “tweets”, will link back to the BMO Capital Markets website, where the full content can be viewed. The tweets can be viewed through Twitter’s web-based platform, or by using any third-party Twitter application for mobile devices.
“We are looking to Twitter as another form of social media that will further build on our capabilities for mobile platforms,” said Kuwayti.
