James Whitman has rejoined Brandes Investment Partners as regional director, Toronto and Atlantic Canada, effective May 21.

Whitman replaces Geoff Goss, who has been appointed director of relationship management at EdgePoint Capital Partners, the firm started by former lead manager at Aim Trimark, Tye Bousada.

Whitman has 20 years experience in investment sales and sales management. Most recently, he was COO at Altamira Investment Services. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce and brings his experience, and a deep understanding of the teachings of Benjamin Graham, value investing and Brandes to this position.

Whitman is returning to Brandes after leaving in 2006 to gain some experience on the corporate management side of the business. He reports to Alasdair Hayes, EVP sales.

“We are thrilled to have James back. In his earlier tenure, he established many of the benchmarks we still use today for client service. His enthusiasm for servicing advisors is contagious,” says Hayes.
