Wellington West Financial Services Inc. today announce the addition of Marc Albert as executive vp and chief operating officer. Albert represented Canada at the 1992 Barcelona Olympic Games as captain of the Canadian Olympic Volleyball team.

“Marc will be instrumental in helping us continue to build an excellent platform for growth across our financial planning network,” says Wade Lawrence, President.

Albert will be responsible for the daily operations of Wellington West Financial, working closely with Lawrence who will continue to oversee sales growth, strategic planning and acquisitions.

Albert joins Wellington West from Investors Group, where he was vp of the Atlantic region. Previously, he worked as regional director of sales and business Development for a national life insurance and financial planning firm and had seven years of experience as a top producing financial advisor with a national brokerage organization where he specialized in corporate and personal estate planning.

Albert holds the Chartered Financial Planner and Certified Financial Planner designations and is currently completing a part-time MBA at the Sobey School of Business at Saint Mary’s University. He is also a motivational speaker and is fluently bilingual in French and English.

Albert has helped numerous organizations over the years, including Volleyball Canada and Volleyball New Brunswick, Université de Moncton, Scouts Canada, Calgary Minor Soccer, Moncton Beauséjour Breast Cancer Research Foundation, Calgary Police/Flames Sport Camps for the less fortunate, the Board of Governors of the New Brunswick Sports Hall of Fame.
