The Winnipeg Commodity Exchange Inc. has added former Investors Group Inc. executive Terry Wright to its board.
Lorne DeJaeger, chairman of the Board of WCE Holdings Inc., announced that Wright has been appointed to its board of directors. The board of WCE Holdings also serves as the board of Winnipeg Commodity Exchange.
Wright is now with Winnipeg-based law firm, Pitbaldo LLP as counsel. He has extensive corporate and securities legal experience having practiced law in Manitoba since 1971.
Prior to joining Pitbaldo, Wright worked as senior vice president, general counsel and secretary of IGM Financial Inc. During his tenure in the financial services sector he was chairman of the Mutual Fund Dealers Association of Canada and Investments Funds Institute of Canada and a director of the Centre for the Financial Services Ombudsnetwork, the Ombudsman for Banking Services and Investments and the Canadian Payments System.
Wright has also served as president of the board of directors of the Royal Winnipeg Ballet, chairman of the Health Sciences Centre Research Foundation Inc., and chairman of the board of both the Victoria General Hospital and the Victoria General Hospital Foundation Inc. He also serves on the boards of Ag Growth Income Fund, Enervest Energy and Oil Sands Total Return Trust and Enervest FTS Limited Partnership 2006.
