The Toronto-Dominion Bank has appointed is Amy Woods Brinkley to its board of directors, the bank said Thursday.
Brinkley is a former global risk executive at Bank of America and currently serves on the board of Carter’s, Inc.
Brinkley was named among Fortune magazine’s 50 Most Powerful Women in Business from 2000 to 2008 and as the Most Powerful Woman in banking by US Banker in 2005. She also serves as a commissioner for the Carolinas HealthCare System.
“We’re very pleased that we are able to add Amy’s high-caliber talent and extensive banking experience to our board of directors,” said John Thompson, chairman of the board, TD Bank Financial Group (TSX:TD). “Amy’s rich background as a risk management executive will play an important role.”
Brinkley is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and currently resides in North Carolina.
The appointment of Brinkley brings the total number of directors to 16.
