Michael Tait is returning to UBS Securities Canada Inc. in June as managing director and head of Canadian equity sales, the company said Friday.

Tait, who comes to UBS from Genuity Capital Markets, where he was a partner, will be based in Toronto and report to Rick Meslin, head of Canadian equities. He was previously with UBS from 2002 to 2005 on the firm’s equity sales desk.

In addition to his time at UBS, Tait has 15 years of industry experience, and he has also worked in mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance and private equity.

He has a degree in economics and international politics from Queen’s University and an MBA jointly from the University of Toronto and Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.
