Investment industry veteran Michael Stanley will step into the role of president at Windsor, Ont.-based Sterling Mutuals Inc. on July 4, the company announced on Tuesday.

“With the continued growth of the firm and strong interest among advisors for our value proposition, Sterling Mutuals sought a leader to guide the growth of both our staff and advisors for the long term” says Nelson Cheng, the firm’s current president and CEO in a statement.

Most recently, Stanley was the CEO of London, Ont.-based Quadrus Investment Services Ltd. He also serves on the Investment Funds Institute of Canada’s board of directors.

“Michael’s knowledge of the industry and ability to foster strong relationships complements an already talented Sterling management team,” says Cheng.

Sterling Mutuals, which was founded in 1996, is a national mutual fund dealer with more than $3 billion in assets under administration and roughly 300 advisors and assistants.

Cheng will continue in his role as CEO to oversee Sterling Mutuals’ technology and strategic growth opportunities.
