The Standard Life Assurance Co. of Canada today announced that Sophie Fortin has joined the company as senior vp, human resources and corporate services.
She will play a key role in supporting the company’s growth in Canada, with continued focus on talent management and on implementing a high performance culture.

A seasoned human resources executive with more than 20 years of experience with national and international companies such as MAAX, Bristol-Myers Squibb and Agropur, Fortin has a track record that also encompasses communications, strategic planning and customer services. Among her accomplishments, she has implemented several talent development and total compensation programs, and created a new corporate visibility program.
Fortin graduated from Concordia University with a Master of Business Administration and also majored in Psychology. She is active in her profession as a member of the Corporation of Human Relations and Industrial Relations.
