Quebec City-based SSQ Insurance on Wednesday announced the appointment of Geneviève Fortier as senior vice president of distribution, effective April 19.
“Geneviève will occupy a prominent role at SSQ Insurance, in charge of sales and distribution of our insurance and investment solutions. Her extensive experience and her well-known leadership will undeniably serve as assets in the pursuit of our business growth across the country,” says Jean-François Chalifoux, in a statement.
Fortier most recently held the position of senior vice president at McKesson Canada, where she successfully managed several portfolios. She has also held senior management positions at Reitmans Canada, Merck Frosst Canada and Biochem Pharma.
She has a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in Industrial Relations from Université Laval. She s a Fellow of the Ordre des conseillers en ressources humaines agréés. Actively involved in her community, she chairs the board of directors of the CHUM and CHU Ste-Justine, and sits on the boards of directors of Sanimax and Fillactive.
