Sprott Asset Management LP has appointed Scott Colbourne to the position of senior portfolio manager, Sprott Inc. (TSX:SII) announced Tuesday.
“We are very pleased to add a portfolio manager of Scott’s calibre to our investment team,” says James Fox, president of Sprott Asset Management. “Scott is extremely well respected in the industry and has established an enviable track record of managing a range of investment solutions, including fixed-income and balanced funds, as well as foreign exchange portfolios and fixed income hedge funds for some of Canada’s leading asset managers.”
Colbourne is a seasoned investment professional who started his career at the Bank of Canada and has accumulated more than 22 years of investment experience.
Prior to joining Sprott Asset Management, Colbourne was a senior fixed income portfolio manager at TD Asset Management, where he was part of a team that managed all of the firm’s active fixed income institutional, retail and private client assets. He was also a member of the TD’s asset allocation committee.
Previously, Colbourne held a senior position at AGF Funds Inc., where he managed fixed income mandates and co-managed balanced funds. Colbourne is also a four-time winner of the Best Foreign Bond Fund at the Morningstar Canadian Investment Awards.
“With Scott’s hiring, along with the recent addition of Peter Loach as executive vice president of product development, we continue to attract top talent to our team as we work to expand and diversify our client solutions and product line-up,” adds Fox.
Sprott Inc. currently operates through three distinct business units: Sprott Asset Management LP, Sprott Private Wealth LP and Sprott Consulting LP.
