Toronto-based Sentry Investments Inc. announced on Tuesday that it’s adding two senior portfolio managers to its ranks.
Lieh Wang, who joined Sentry in January, will now manage a new options sleeve for Sentry Alternative Asset Income Fund while Paul Johnson, whose official start was on Tuesday, will take over as lead manager of the global equity team.
Before joining Sentry, Wang built up 20 years of industry experience, which included managing options strategies and working in insurance. Previously, he served as the manager of Empire Life Insurance Co.’s U.S. equity mandate.
Johnson, a new hire, also clocked more than 25 years of financial services sector experience in Canada and the U.K. Much of his previous work focused on managing global and international equity mutual funds and institutional mandates.
“Lieh and Paul both have a tremendous amount of experience and expertise that will benefit Sentry, our advisors and their clients,” says Gaelan Morphet, chief investment officer at Sentry Investments, in a statement.
