Seamark Asset Management Ltd. has appointed Angela Eaton as its chief investment officer.
Eaton previously served as Seamark’s head of equities and will retain those responsibilities in her new role. She has over twenty years of industry experience.
“Angela has been a key contributor to the turnaround in Seamark’s investment performance over the past year and a half,” says Stuart Raftus, president & CEO. “Her appointment to CIO recognizes her strong leadership, research discipline and investment insight.”
Eaton takes over from Tom MacLaren, who will retire from Seamark in August. MacLaren will work with Eaton over the next six months to ensure a smooth transition of responsibilities.
“Tom was instrumental in restructuring the investment team and instilling new processes and rigour to drive the team’s effectiveness,” says Raftus. “After almost 20 years at Seamark, we wish Tom and his family all the very best in his retirement and this new phase of his life.”
In other internal moves, Brent Barrie has assumed the chief operating officer title while Donald Wishart continues in his role as chief financial officer and a member of the executive portfolio team, and Richard Fewell has taken on the responsibilities of chief portfolio manager.
