Scott Davidson has parted ways with Toronto-based Canaccord Genuity Group Inc. after 14 years with the independent wealth-management firm.
An internal memo from Canaccord says Davidson left his role as executive vice president, global head of corporate development and strategy, to pursue new opportunities.
Davidson was responsible for the firm’s global marketing, investor relations and communications functions, according to the memo. The note adds that Davidson was instrumental in defining the brand strategy of the wealth-management and capital markets businesses, and the development of Canaccord’s in-house Canadian asset-management capability.
As well, Davidson played a role in the acquisition and integration the Balloch Group, BGF Equities and Collins Stewart Hawkpoint.
Davidson first joined Canaccord in 2002 as a consultant to the capital markets group. A year later, Davidson became a director of the marketing department and eventually took on the role of managing director, global head of marketing and communications.
