Harry Rannala, an equity analyst covering the Real Estate and REITs sector for Raymond James Ltd., is retiring from the firm and the equity research profession effective this week.

Gail Mifsud will continue as the firm’s equity analyst covering the Real Estate and REITs sector, with no change to Raymond James’ coverage universe or investment ratings.

With more than 30 years experience as a sell-side equity analyst at a number of investment dealers, Rannala leaves the business having commanded a great deal of respect from both institutional investors and corporate executives.

As an independent measure of Rannala’s success, the capital markets research and consulting firm, Brendan Wood International, has consistently recognized the excellent quality of his research. For the past 18 years, it has been surveying institutional money managers across Canada and ranking the country’s research analysts. Rannala has ranked first in the Real Estate sector for nine of those 18 years and has ranked second in five of those years.
