Simon Shapland has been appointed to the newly-created position of head, sales and relationship management for Europe at RBC Dexia Investor Services, the firm announced today.
Shapland, who joined the company in 2004, previously ran the sales and relationship management functions for the UK, Ireland and Middle East.
In his new role, Shapland will lead RBC Dexia’s sales and relationship management teams in the European region. According to a release, he continues to report to Tony Johnson, global head, sales and relationship management.
“Building on RBC Dexia’s strong growth in Europe over the past 12 months, we have expanded Simon’s mandate to further drive both onshore and offshore sales and strategic client management efforts across our European markets,” said Johnson, in a news release.
Prior to joining RBC Dexia, Mr. Shapland served as head of sales, Europe for BISYS Fund Services and before that, as first vice president, regional sales and marketing director for ABN AMRO Mellon Global Securities Services.
