Raymond James Ltd. says it recently recruited a well-regarded financial advisor and his team in Burnaby, British Columbia.
According to Terry Hetherington, executive vice president and head of the firm’s private client group in Canada, Eric Muir and the Muir investment team will be key partners for building the Raymond James presence in the Burnaby and White Rock areas.
“We are thrilled to welcome Eric Muir and his team as our newest partners at Raymond James,” said Hetherington. “They embody the best of our Raymond James values — an intense client focus, commitment to giving back into the community, and a dedication to delivering the very best wealth management solutions to the individual investors and families that put their faith in them.”
The team comes to Raymond James from National Bank where they earned a long-standing reputation among the nation’s top-tier financial advisors. “We spent a lot of time searching for the right firm to join because it was essential to our clients that our choice was in their best interests,” says Muir.
“Raymond James’ values and client focus mirror our own. Plus, being part of a firm that allows us the independence to do what is right for each client, without any pressure to sell proprietary products, was key to our decision,” he adds.
Muir has been in the financial services industry for more than 25 years. His team’s primary focus is on providing customized wealth management strategies and portfolio management to individual investors and their families, as well as professionals, business owners and clients approaching or living in retirement.
He holds senior industry designations including Canadian Investment Manager (CIM) and is a fellow of the Canadian Securities Institute (FCSI). He was awarded the Wealth Management Award of Excellence in May 2013 from National Bank. He also earned a Bachelor of Commerce Degree (Honors Finance) from Carleton University.
Through its network of 6,300 financial advisors and portfolio managers across Canada and the United States, Raymond James serves more than 2.5 million individual investors and families, and oversees total client assets of approximately $405 billion.
