Toronto-based investment dealer Raymond James Ltd. Friday announced that Gavin McOuat is joining the firm as managing director and co-head of investment banking mining and metals effective June 10.
He will be based in Toronto and work closely with fellow co-head of mining, John Murphy, who will continue to serve mining clients from the Raymond James Vancouver office.

“He has a strong reputation for his ability to identify and build deep relationships with clients, and is widely respected throughout the mining industry in North America and internationally.”
McOuat joins Raymond James from Barclays, where he was the global co-head of metals and mining. He was responsible for primary coverage of the mining and metals companies operating in the Americas and co-manager of the Barclays’ global mining team. He advised on several M&A and financing transactions in Canada and the United States. Prior to that, he was a managing director in the mining and metals investment banking groups at Citigroup Global Markets and National Bank.
McOuat holds a LLM in Mineral Law and Policy and a B. Comm.
