Toronto-based Raymond James Ltd. announced on Wednesday that Ross Prokopy is joining the firm as managing director of energy within its investment banking team in Calgary.
“Our vision is to be the leading mid-market investment dealer in terms of providing superior advice to investors and delivering financing and advisory services to our clients,” says Paul Allison, Raymond James’ chairman and CEO, in a statement. “This is particularly important within the energy sector and Ross will play an important role working with our energy team to enhance our capabilities.”
Prokopy joins Raymond James from Toronto-based GMP Securities LP, at which he was managing director and head of debt capital markets. His professional experience also includes senior positions in high-yield and debt capital markets within the capital markets arm of Toronto-based Royal Bank of Canada.
“I am excited about joining a team of investment banking professionals who are committed to making a difference to our clients, especially during these challenging markets,” says Prokopy in a statement.
“With our extensive domestic footprint, and impressive cross-border expertise, Raymond James is uniquely positioned to serve corporate and institutional clients with world-class service, advice and execution,” he adds.
Raymond James’ announcement also notes that Prokopy was a captain in the Canadian Forces and was awarded medals during his service.
