Raymond James Ltd. has named Kevin Whelly to the newly created position of senior vice president, growth and development.
The new position will support Raymond James’ “aggressive recruitment goals” for its Private Client business, the company said Tuesday.
Whelly, who began his career in his hometown of Halifax, joins the firm with more than 23 years of investment management experience and a track record of building sales teams, the company said. He has also had senior management roles with investment dealers in Vancouver and Toronto.
Over the past year, Raymond James has added more than 50 new Investment Advisors to its retail team of 265 Advisors, growing more than 25% to about $8.0 billion in client assets under administration during this period.
“Our goal is to continue to grow aggressively, and over the next three years we plan to create a team in excess of 400 Investment Advisors, managing more than $18 billion in client assets under administration,” said Raymond James President Peter Bailey.
