Qtrade Financial today announced the appointment of Peter Brady as general counsel, effective July 1.

Peter’s legal and regulatory background will be of critical importance to us as we continue to deliver our fully integrated and comprehensive national wealth management offering to our financial institution partners,” said Qtrade CEO Scott Gibner, in a news release.
Brady has a significant amount of experience in the legal and regulatory field through his tenure at the British Columbia Securities Commission where he was most recently senior enforcement counsel in the enforcement Division. Brady’s first role at the BCSC in 1997 was senior legal counsel in the exemptions and orders division, followed by his role as senior legal counsel in the legal and market initiatives division.
Brady holds a B.A. (Honours) from Queen’s University and an LL.B. from the University of Victoria and is a member of the Law Society of British Columbia. Brady has also completed the Canadian Securities Course and Level 1 of the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Examination.
