(April 25 – 17:45 ET) – The Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions has hired CIBC’s former chief financial officer John Doran.

Doran will join OSFI on May 1 as assistant superintendent, Supervision Sector. Since 1988, Doran was CIBC’s executive vice-president and CFO. He holds an MBA from the University of Western Ontario.

Doran replaces Nicholas Le Pan who is becoming OSFI’s deputy superintendent. Le Pan will assist superintendent John Palmer in overseeing all OSFI activities and will head up certain projects.

Le Pan has been with OSFI since 1995. Prior to his arrival at OSFI, Le Pan was assistant deputy minister in the federal Department of Finance. He has an MA in economics from the University of Toronto and a BA from Carleton University.
