John Nicola, chairman and CEO of Nicola Wealth Management, has been selected as a finalist for Ernst & Young’s Entrepreneur of the Year Award (business-to-consumer products and services, Pacific Region), the Vancouver-based firm said Tuesday.

Nicola founded his namesake firm in 1994, and since then he has promoted innovation and transparency within the industry, achieving substantial results and earning the respect of his peers.

“This is both surprising and appreciated. Frankly, being selected as a finalist reflects on us as a firm more than me as an individual,” says Nicola.

“We work hard to provide our clients, many of whom are entrepreneurs themselves, with a high standard of service and results. For us, that often means moving beyond traditional approaches and finding new avenues for building wealth and achieving their objectives.”

The names of the Pacific winners will be announced at a gala banquet in Vancouver on September 28. Nicola is the only finalist from the financial services industry in the Pacific region.
