National Bank of Canada today announced the appointment of Rejean Levesque to the position of executive vp – personal and commercial banking and member of the office of the president, effective immediately.
Levesque has worked in the banking industry since 1981. He began his career at National Bank in 1988 as an assistant manager – corporate accounts. After serving in management positions in corporate banking, he was named vp – retail and commercial banking for the Beauce/Frontenac region in 1991.
From 1993 to 2002, Levesque held a number of vp positions in both personal and commercial banking and also took part in the bank’s continuous improvement program.
In 2002, Levesque was promoted to senior vp – commercial banking, northern and eastern Quebec, a position he held until August 2005, when he took the helm of the operations review program. He then went on to head the teams at retail financial solutions, which includes electronic payment solutions, and since May 2007 has also been responsible for the operations group.
Levesque holds a Bachelor’s degree in finance and international business from McGill University and an MBA from the Université du Québec à Montréal.
