The National Bank has appointed Ricardo Pascoe to the position of senior vice president, capital markets.

“We are very pleased to welcome Pascoe to our team. He acquired extensive capital markets expertise while working for major financial groups in Canada, the United States and England. we believe that he will make a considerable contribution to consolidating the bank’s role in the derivatives industry, a booming market”, said Louis Vachon, senior vice president, treasury and financial markets, in a news release.

Pascoe, who has been in the position since September 2, is responsible for overseeing the National Bank’s operations relating to derivative products, foreign exchange and alternative investments.

Previously, Pascoe was global head of markets at Commerzbank Securities in London, England. He also worked in New York for Commerzbank Capital Markets Corp.

Prior to that, he was with Veritas Capital Management, LLC, Greenwich, Connecticut, and held various senior management positions with other specialized investment firms and at BT Bank of Canada.

Pascoe has an MBA from the University of Western Ontario, a Master’s degree in Economics from Columbia University, New York, and a Bachelor’s degree from Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario.
