The Washington, D.C.-based North American Securities Administrators Association (NASAA) named interim executive director Joseph Brady as its top staffer on Tuesday.
Brady joined the organization of state and provincial securities regulators in 2005 as associate counsel and was later named general counsel in 2011. Prior to joining NASAA, he served as chief counsel to the securities division of the Mississippi Secretary of State.
Brady began serving as NASAA’s acting executive director in September 2014, following the departure of former executive director Russ Iuculano.
In his new role, Brady will oversee the organization’s day-to-day operations and lead its work with regulators, the investment industry, investor groups and government policy-makers.
“We are very pleased that Joey will be remaining at NASAA as our executive director. His NASAA experience, coupled with his state regulatory and private practice experience, give him a unique and valuable perspective on the issues facing NASAA,” says William Beatty, NASAA president and Washington securities director. “We are confident that he will hit the ground running as he guides the association through the coming years.”
