Darren McKiernan will join Toronto-based Mackenzie Financial Corp. on December 6 as senior vice president, investment management and lead of the Global Equity and Income Team, the firm announced on Wednesday.
As part of his new role, McKiernan will co-lead the Mackenzie Canadian Large Cap Dividend Fund/Class and Mackenzie Canadian Large Cap Dividend & Growth Fund alongside Hovig Moushian. McKiernan will also co-lead the equity portion of the Mackenzie Income Fund and Mackenzie Strategic Income Fund/Class and will manage the Mackenzie Global Dividend Fund.
An 18-year industry veteran, McKiernan has experience in both retail and institutional investing and specializes as a portfolio manager and investment analyst in global equities. Joining McKiernan as portfolio managers are Eugene Profis, who specializes in U.S. equities and Ome Saidi, who focuses on international equities.
The Mackenzie Large Cap Dividend Team – consisting of Norman Raschkowan, Dinka Kucic and Joe Mastrolonardo – that managed the funds discussed earlier will be leaving the firm. The portion of Mackenzie Canadian Concentrated Equity Fund that was managed by the team will transition to the Mackenzie All Cap Value Team.
