Montreal-based Laurentian Bank Thursday announced the appointment of Gilles Godbout as executive vice president of operations and systems and chief information officer.
After taking the position on April 23, Godbout is responsible for the operations and expert services business unit, as well as the real estate and information technologies management sector. He also sits as a member of the bank’s management committee.
Godbout possesses numerous years of experience and extensive expertise in the IT field. Most recently, he held the position of senior manager of the IT sector within Hydro-Québec’s technology group. He has also occupied various management positions at CGI.
Godbout is already very familiar with the workings of Laurentian Bank, having held different posts within the organization from 1987 to 1999, including head of Computer Services.
He holds Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Computer Science and Operational Research from Université de Montréal, where he also completed doctoral studies in artificial intelligence.
