Jovian Capital Corp. today announced the appointment of Russ Lindsay as chief operating officer of the firm.

Lindsay is a Chartered Accountant by profession and has over 30 years of experience in the investment business, having held senior positions at a major Canadian bank and having served as CFO and executive vp of an investment holding company.

Lindsay is currently the CEO of Leon Frazer & Associates Inc., one of Jovian’s subsidiaries, and he will continue to hold that position until a replacement has been found.

A key objective of Lindsay’s new role will be to create the most appropriate integrated and effective common services platform to support Jovian and its operating entities.

Mal Anderson, the Chief Executive Officer of Rice Financial Group Inc., another Jovian subsidiary, will continue to focus his efforts on growing that company’s business, and will serve as senior vp of Jovian.

Jovian’s management feels that the company has reached the stage of its development where it is important to have a full-time COO, and Lindsay will assume full responsibility for the day-to-day operations of Jovian and will be responsible to assure short- and long-term planning exists across the areas of physical facilities, human resources, financial systems and financial resources.

Lindsay will have reporting responsibility for the financial, risk management, operations, technology and legal departments, as well as for another Jovian subsidiary, Felcom Data Services Inc.
