Toronto-based TMX Group Inc. on Tuesday announced the retirement of John McCoach, president of TSX Venture Exchange (TSXV), effective Dec. 31.
McCoach has served in executive roles since joining the organization in 2003 and has been president of TSXV for six years. He will remain in his capacity as president of TSXV until his retirement date at the end of 2016.
“Throughout his tenure with TSX Venture Exchange, John has proven himself a respected leader and a steadfast advocate for the entire Venture community,” says Nicholas Thadaney, president and CEO, global equity capital markets, TMX Group, in a statement.
“I would like to acknowledge John’s significant contribution to helping build TSXV into the world’s premier public venture capital market. Over the remainder of the year, John will continue to work on the ongoing implementation of our Revitalizing TSXV initiative and will help ensure an efficient, seamless leadership transition for the company and our clients,” Thadaney adds.
TMX Group has not yet appointed a successor to McCoach. A comprehensive search of internal and external candidates will take place over the coming months.
