Prominent tax and policy professional Jack Mintz is joining the Canadian offices of Ernst & Young (EY) as a national strategic policy advisor, the firm announced on Friday.
“As part of EY’s team, Dr. Mintz will offer strategic management advice to clients across all industries, help enterprises develop sound strategies and offer insight on public and tax policy,” said Alycia Calvert, EY’s tax managing partner, in a statement. “We’re pleased to have Dr. Mintz’s wealth of experience and insight as part of our team.”
Mintz, who is currently a president’s fellow at the University of Calgary’s public policy school, has consulted on broad policy matters for organizations such as the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund. He has also worked with federal and provincial Canadian governments in developing policy.
“Jack has extensive experience solving complex business problems and advising on strategic direction to corporations around the world,” stated EY’s announcement.
EY also noted that Mintz will be a panel member at the firm’s Canadian Leaders’ Forum in Ottawa, where he will discuss promoting fairness and growth in the tax system among other topics. Don Drummond, former associate deputy minister for the Department of Finance Canada, will join Mintz on the panel on Sept. 21.
