Senior investment advisor Ken Gordon and senior portfolio manager Nick Majendie, along with their teams, have moved from Toronto-based Scotiabank and ScotiaMcLeod, respectively, to Montreal-based National Bank Financial (NBF).

Both advisors, who also served as directors at Scotiabank and collectively have nearly 80 years of experience in the investment industry, ran separate practices at the bank. Gordon led Verus Financial, which was formed in 1985, while Majendie ran high net-worth-focused Majendie Wealth Management for more than 20 years.

At NBF, the two now work together in Vancouver under the Verus Financial banner and with a team of six colleagues who also came from Scotiabank. Investment associate Cody Gordon worked with his father, Ken, as did administrative assistants Carmen Ng, Angel Payumo and Chase Gordon. Meanwhile, investment associate Rana Lee and administrative assistant Grace Ma worked with Majendie.

In a release, NBF wealth management president Martin Lavigne says the bank is “very pleased” to welcome the team.

In September, Scotiabank named Craig Gilchrist as head of ScotiaMcLeod, replacing former head Rob Djurfeldt after his departure in May and move to Winnipeg-based Wellington-Altus Private Wealth Inc.
