Each week, we summarize notable moves across the financial industry.
- Michelle Myers has been named global chief auditor, effective Dec. 9, with TD Bank Group, marking her entry to the senior executive team. Myers succeeds Anita O’Dell, senior vice-president and global chief auditor and interim U.S. chief auditor, as O’Dell plans to retire at the end of May 2025. Myers has worked with the bank since 2022, currently serving as senior vice-president, controller and chief accountant. In her new role, she’ll report to Bharat Masrani, group president and CEO, as well as to the TD Bank Group audit committee. Keith Lam, currently deputy U.S. chief auditor, will become acting U.S. chief auditor, reporting to Myers and to the U.S. audit committees.
- Jean-Philippe Lemay will join the leadership team of Connor, Clark & Lunn Financial Group as a managing director, effective Jan. 6. He’s moving from Fiera Capital Corp., where he’s been global CEO since January 2022. He’s been with Fiera for 13 years, holding various senior positions.
- Tiffany L. Harding has been appointed head of wealth and estate planning services, family wealth advisor, with Barometer Capital Management Inc. Shivana Stan has been named head of wealth services, family wealth advisor, expanding her role with the company. These appointments relate to Barometer’s “commitment to addressing the complex, multi-faceted needs of high-net-worth individuals and families,” a release said. Harding has been in the industry for more than two decades, most recently working with Richardson Wealth and with past experience at firms such as Manulife Wealth. Stan joined Barometer in 2017.
- Simon Holmes is now chief investment officer, in Canada, with BGO (part of SLC Management). He’ll lead the firm’s domestic real estate transaction activity in this expanded role, which adds to his current position as leader and portfolio manager for the firm’s Canadian core strategy. He will also lead BGO Canada’s management investment committee as chairman, a release said. Holmes first joined BGO in 2003 and then re-joined in 2016, after having spent a decade with CPP Investments.
- Vincent Lévesque is now vice-president and head of products with Croesus. He’ll oversee development and innovation of the firm’s tools, working with the software engineering teams, a release said. Lévesque has held senior product design positions with institutions such as National Bank of Canada.
- Richard Zhou has resigned as president and CEO, and chairman of the board of directors, of Blockchain Venture Capital Inc. The change was effective Nov. 25, and in a release the company thanked Zhou for his contributions. Thomas Griffin has stepped in as president and CEO, and will join the board. Griffin has gained experience in the past three decades as an entrepreneur, executive, advisor and investor, the release said, and he focuses on profitability and growth. The board appointed Marc Kealey to serve as chairman of the board.
- Shatkosky Wealth Management has joined Wellington-Altus Private Wealth Inc. in Waterloo, Ont. The team includes senior wealth advisor Jeff Shatkosky who’s coming from BMO Nesbitt Burns where he’s been an investment advisor since 1992.
- Nathan Parkhouse, senior advisor, has joined Rubach Wealth, a family office practice in Toronto. He has more than 20 years of experience, having begun his career in the bank-branch channel and working throughout the years at firms such as IG Wealth Management. Rubach Wealth is led by principal Elke Rubach and senior associate advisor Brooke McClelland.
