- Roy Gori, president and CEO of Manulife, announced he will retire in May. Phil Witherington, current president and CEO of the Asia segment, will take over the position. Gori will continue to serve as an advisor until August 2025 to support the transition to Witherington. Witherington joined Manulife in 2014 and previously served as its chief financial officer. Prior to that, he held positions at HSBC, AIA and KPMG.
- Tolga Yalkin, assistant superintendent of regulatory response at the Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions, will become the new CEO and chief statutory officer of the B.C. Financial Services Authority on January 13. His last day at OSFI will be January 3, with Angie Radiskovic, assistant superintendent of strategy risk and governance assuming temporary responsibility for the position in addition to her current role. Yalkin replaces Blair Morrison, who will retire after five years as the CEO of BCFSA.
- Chris Chircoski and Ben Say joined Equity Associates Inc., bringing Waypoint Financial Group to a new branch in London, Ont. Chircoski has been an advisor for two decades and focuses on portfolio management and investments with Say serving clients.
