Each week, Investment Executive summarizes notable moves across the financial industry.
- Patrick Ballantyne is leading the Canadian Insurance Services Regulatory Organizations (CISRO) as chair. He’s been CEO of the Registered Insurance Brokers of Ontario since 2016, after having started as general counsel in 2005. He has more than 30 years of experience in legal and regulatory compliance in financial services, a release said, and he succeeds Eric Jacob, executive director of enforcement with the Autorité des marchés financiers, who had taken the leadership role with CISRO in 2021.
- Ted Welter has joined Toronto-based Hazelview Investments as its new executive chairman — an advisory role. He’ll offer strategic counsel to the executive team and lead the company’s new advisory committee. He was formerly managing director and CIO of alternative investments with TD Asset Management (which combined with Greystone Capital Management Inc. in 2018).
- Tiffany Harding has joined Richardson Wealth as a wealth strategist with the Partington Wealth Management team in Toronto. She comes from Manulife Wealth, which she joined in 2022, and has more than 25 years of industry experience. Her new team of six colleagues includes portfolio manager and investment advisor Simon Partington.
- James Antonio is now vice-president of transformation for retail banking and wealth with Meridian Credit Union. He first worked with the bank between 2010 and 2018, in various roles, and then rejoined in May of last year as an assistant vice-president working on wealth strategy.
- The team of regional managers has grown at Wellington-Altus Private Wealth Inc. Two newer members are Jennifer Hochstein, who helps advisors in British Columbia, and Paul Tomlinson, who oversees the Prairie provinces. They’ve each worked with Wellington-Altus for several years.
