The Quebec District Council of the Investment Dealers Association of Canada has imposed a 10-year ban on Georges Métivier, a former registered rep with RBC Dominion Securities Inc. in Montreal, for insider trading.

The District Council found that Métivier purchased, for his own account, options of a public company about which he had obtained privileged non-public information from a client who was an insider.

Besides the ban, the IDA fined Métivier $25,000 and ordered him to pay $15,000 in costs.

Métivier has not been a registered rep with since the termination of his employment with RBC Dominion Securities Inc. in November 2000.
