Quebec City-based iA Financial Group has appointed Philippe Sarfati as executive vice-president and chief risk officer, effective Sept. 21.
Sarfati, who most recently served as EVP and chief risk officer at Saskatoon, Sask.-based Concentra Bank, has more than 30 years of experience in risk management. He spent more than 20 years at Bank of Montreal, holding various positions that included vice president of integrated risk policy and stress testing, and has also worked with organizations such as CIBC World Markets and the Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions Canada.
Sarfati will be a member of iA Financial Group’s executive committee, chaired by president and CEO Denis Ricard.
Ricard noted in a Tuesday release that the company will draw on Sarfati’s risk management expertise. “Philippe will help us improve our practices in this area and make sure that our clients feel confident and secure in their future when doing business with us,” he said.
