Howard Wetston, the former chairman and CEO of the Ontario Securities Commission, has joined the competition policy council of the C.D. Howe Institute, the Toronto-based think tank announced on Monday.
Wetston was appointed a senior fellow at the organization earlier this year, and he joined Bay Street law firm Goodmans LLP as counsel earlier this month.
“Throughout his distinguished career, Howard has led the charge on addressing many of Canada’s most challenging regulatory issues,” says William Robson, president and CEO of the C.D. Howe Institute, in a statement. “The Institute is grateful for his intellectual contributions to this important research program.”
The council provides expert, independent analysis of emerging competition policy issues, including those potentially faced by the Competition Bureau.
