HighView Financial Group Inc. has entered into an agreement to acquire the investment research and investment counsel firm, Dan Hallett & Associates Inc.

Terms of the transaction, which is subject to regulatory approval, were not disclosed.

Under the deal, Hallett will lead the Oakville, Ont.-based wealth management firm’s manager research and asset management initiatives.

“After having worked together for the past two and half years via a consulting arrangement, we are now formally bringing our two firms together,” said Greg Rodger, HighView’s chief investment officer.

“HighView’s tremendous reputation and capabilities will bring huge benefits to DH&A’s clients and I’m very excited about the future of our combined business,” said Hallett.

Mark Barnicutt, president of HighView, said, “We are thrilled to have Dan join the HighView team as his skills and reputation will lend tremendous support to Highview as we expand our mutual fund research, guided portfolios and separately managed account programs.”
