Martin J. G. Glynn has been appointed to the board of directors of Sun Life Financial Inc. (TSX:SLF), effective December 7.

Glynn is an experienced corporate director and banking executive. He spent his career in progressively senior executive positions with HSBC Bank in Canada and the United States retiring as Chief Executive Officer, HSBC Bank USA in 2006.

He has had international experience in Asia and the United Kingdom emanating from his HSBC, other board and business relationships.

Glynn serves on the boards of Hathor Exploration Limited, Husky Energy Inc., MF Global Holdings Ltd. and VinaCapital Vietnam Opportunity Fund Ltd.
