Financial Planning Standards Council (FPSC) is now accepting nominations for the Fellow of FPSC distinction, the Toronto-based organization announced on Friday.

The Fellow of FPSC distinction recognizes individuals who have made a significant contribution to the financial planning profession in Canada.

Canadians must volunteer or participate in a related activity with FPSC that directly pertains to advancing FPSC’s purpose of driving value and instilling confidence in financial planning.

The candidate must also work toward the advancement of certified financial planner professional standards by leading or inspiring the development, acceptance or adoption of the standards in order to further the public interest and enhance the reputation of the designation.

Recipients will be honoured during Financial Planning Week at FPSC’s Celebration of the Profession Dinner, which will occur Nov. 20 in Toronto.

The deadline for submissions is June 20.

FPSC is also accepting nominations for the Donald J. Johnston Lifetime Achievement Award in Financial Planning, which recognizes recipients’ lifetime advancement of Certified Financial Planner certification and profound contributions to the financial planning profession.
