Former banker Andrew Kriegler is joining the Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions as assistant superintendent, supervision sector.
The federal financial institutions regulator says Kriegler will take up his position on February 18. He will also join OSFI’s executive committee.
Kriegler has more than 25 years of experience in the financial services industry, most recently as senior vice president and treasurer at CIBC.
Prior to his tenure at CIBC, where he’d been since 2008, Kriegler spent eight years with Moody’s Investors Service, including serving as managing director Canada for six years, and senior vice president and chief human resources officer at the rating agency’s head office in New York for two years.
Before that, Kriegler worked at CIBC, BMO/Nesbitt Burns and Canada Trust, in areas such as securitization and funding.
