In an effort to grow its wealth management business, Levis, Que.-based Desjardins Group has announced changes to its executive team.
Denis Dubois has been appointed executive vice president of wealth management and life and health insurance (WMLHI), replacing Gregory Chrispin.
In an email to Investment Executive, Desjardins spokesperson Marc-Brian Chamberland wrote that while the WMLHI unit “is doing well in general, we need to accelerate our growth in this sector.”
Because of this, Desjardins decided a change in leadership was necessary, “despite Gregory Chrispin’s fine work as head of WMLHI,” Chamberland wrote.
“WMLHI operations are central to our growth strategy — and our Canada-wide development in particular,” Chamberland added.
Dubois was previously executive vice president of Desjardins’ property and casualty insurance business. That role has now been filled by Valérie Lavoie.
