Each week, Investment Executive summarizes notable moves across the financial industry.
- Kevin Hulbert has joined iA Clarington Investments as senior vice-president, head of business development, taking over some national sales responsibilities from president and CEO Adam Elliot. Hulbert has been in the industry for decades and comes most recently from Investment Planning Counsel where he was executive VP, products and services. He noted in a LinkedIn post that he’s look forward to working with “the entire team of iA Financial Group,” with that group of businesses currently working on a one wealth strategy under the new SRO regime.
- Nadim Hirji will be the new group head of commercial banking with BMO Financial Group effective March 1, reporting to CEO Darryl White and joining the bank’s executive committee. Hirji joined the bank in 2003 and has held various roles across the commercial banking division, the most recent of which was the leader of BMO commercial banking in Canada, a release said. He has more than 30 years of experience in the industry.
- Related to Hirji’s appointment is the continued leadership in the U.S. of David Casper, who will remain as the U.S. CEO of BMO Financial Group and a member of the bank’s executive committee. He’ll move away from overseeing commercial banking, given developments such as BMO’s Financial Group’s buy of California-based Bank of the West from BNP Paribas.
