The Canadian Foundation for Advancement of Investor Rights (FAIR Canada) announced on Monday that it has named Ermanno Pascutto as its chairman as the organization starts its search for a new executive director.
Pascutto, who founded the investor advocacy group and served as its original executive director, is stepping into the role of chairman as Neil Gross, the organization’s current executive director, is slated to leave on Nov. 2 after resigning from FAIR Canada in early October.
In addition to Pascutto’s appointment, FAIR Canada announced that veteran Toronto Star business journalist, Ellen Roseman, has been appointed as its vice chairwoman. Roseman has been on FAIR Canada’s board of directors since 2009 and formerly served as its chairwoman.
“We are working with staff to manage the transition and will be commencing the search for a new executive director shortly,” says Pascutto in a statement. “We are confident that Marian Passmore, director of policy and chief operating officer, assisted by Kate Swanson and Erika Aucoin, can keep things running smoothly in the interim.”
