Michael Clare has been appointed vice president, investments, replacing Stephen Martin, Creststreet Asset Management Ltd. said Tuesday.

Martin has left the firm to pursue other opportunities, the company said in a release.

Clare will co-manage Creststreet’s investment funds along with Robert Toole, Creststreet’s managing director and founder. Toole has over 20 years energy and alternative energy investment management experience.

Clare has held roles of increasing responsibility in investment analysis since joining Toronto-based Creststreet in 2008. He joined Creststreet from Deloitte & Touche LLP.

Clare holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) degree from Queen’s University and has earned the Chartered Accountant (CA) and Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designations.

Creststreet also announce the appointment of Sheryl Chiddenton as vice president, compliance and investment services. Chiddenton has held roles of increasing responsibility in the compliance and investment services area of Creststreet since 2001.

Creststreet specializes in structuring and managing high quality energy focused long only, long/short and tax-assisted investment products for Canadian and international institutional and high net worth investors. Since its inception in 2000, the firm has raised over $1 billion for energy investments.
