Toronto-based Wealthsimple Inc. has tapped veteran industry executive Jean-Francois Courville to lead the robo-advisor’s business for financial advisors.
Courville’s has been named CEO for Wealthsimple for Advisors, a digital wealth-management platform that lets advisors outsource certain functions.
Previously, Courville was executive vice president and chief operating officer of RBC Wealth Management. Prior to RBC, he oversaw Manulife’s global asset management business as president and CEO with Manulife Asset Management. He also worked at State Street and with National Bank of Canada in various roles.
Wealthsimple has also named Ben Reeves as principal, investment research, for the firm.
Reeves joins the firm from Bridgewater, where he led asset allocation research. Prior to that, he was a consultant at McKinsey & Co.
