CMC Markets Canada Inc. has appointed Bruce Seago as the online trading firm’s chief executive officer, subject to regulatory approval.

Prior to joining CMC Markets, Seago was president of TradeFreedom Securities Inc. in Montreal for two years. Before that, Seago spent 10 years at E*Trade Canada in a number of roles, including president and chief operating officer, where he oversaw the retail brokerage operations. Seago has an MBA from York University in Toronto and a bachelor of commerce degree from the University of Toronto.

“Bruce has a solid track record in Canada’s online trading industry for significant business growth and an ability to deliver products and services that meet the demanding needs of active traders,” said Roger Hynes, western managing director at CMC Markets, in a release.
